To enable developers to easily build natural, conversational agents, we designed Google AI Studio as their springboard; from an idea to a fully functioning application. It allows models and new capabilities to be tested quickly, right in the browser, including features like native audio output and significant improvements to the Live API.
And, recognizing its incredible coding prowess, we have integrated Gemini 2.5 Pro directly into AI Studio’s code editor. This allows developers to quickly generate apps with a simple prompt, leveraging the GenAI SDK for tightly optimized prototypes with first-class model integrations with the Gemini API, validating ideas and helping developers build even faster.
Taking this a step further, our recently-announced Cloud-based agentic AI workspace, Firebase Studio, purpose-built for creating full-stack AI applications with single prompts. This is where vibe coding truly comes alive, enabling developers to generate code using multimodal prompts, while also giving them the option to write it themselves. Firebase Studio provides the ultimate AI-assisted development experience.
Our recent updates have been redefining this experience, aiming to give developers unprecedented control in their interactions with Gemini, as well as expanded functionality, and streamlined workflows, allowing them to build more sophisticated, integrated, and efficient AI applications with less friction. For example, in Autonomous Agent mode, Gemini can propose app changes while always keeping the developer in the loop. Model Context Protocol servers (MCP) in Firebase Studio workspace can help extend and personalize workflows with Gemini in Firebase.
Today, we announced even more new features. Optimized AI templates in Firebase Studio combine the power of Agent mode with custom AI rules to help developers generate and build beautiful, yet powerful Flutter, Angular, React, which are popular with Indian developers. Developers can now use some of their favorite frameworks to go from idea to app at lightning speed.
Integrating Firebase backend services and deploying to Firebase Hosting is now simpler than ever. With a single prompt, Gemini can create a project, initialize necessary services like Authentication and Firestore, and deploy the project, providing a shareable link in seconds – all at no cost to get started. And for seamless collaboration and iteration, developers can now also fork a workspace, creating an identical copy that allows them to share access while protecting their main repository from unwanted changes, empowering developers to refine and expand features collaboratively, while swiftly iterating new ideas.
We also encourage developers to try out Gemini CLI, an open-source AI agent that brings the power of Gemini directly into the terminal. Apart from excelling at coding, Gemini CLI offers a versatile utility that developers can use for a wide range of tasks, from content generation and problem solving to deep research and task management. Developers with a personal Google account can get a free Gemini Code Assist license that gets them access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and its massive 1 million token context window. Google offers the industry’s largest allowance - 60 model requests per minute and 1,000 requests per day - at no charge. Professional developers who need to run multiple agents simultaneously, or who prefer to use specific models, can use a Google AI Studio or Vertex AI key for usage-based billing or get a Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise license.
